More Than Meets The Eye: Transformers Take Over Time Square.

One of the great things about being a theatrical labor provider is that every show is different. Sometimes you need to set up some staging, other times you need to place a 21 foot robot in the center of Time Square!

Such was the case when the Transformers 3: Dark side of the Moon Red Carpet took over Time Square. A 21-foot high replica of the heroic Autobot 'Bumblebee' was one of the many eye catchers on a dazzling set.

HMI par's lit up the elegant red carpet, which trailed towards crashed taxi cabs and cars. Along side these were racing cars adorned with a variety of cannons and guns. Showgun lights shone brightly in front of these cars adding a futuristic feel to the proceedings.

Another great scenic element was the upside down, wrecked car in front of the Transformers logo (Pictured above center). Smoke rose from underneath it, giving the 'just smashed' feel to the set piece.

Hundreds of onlookers gathered and watched the event with many children looking at the giant Bumblebee in awe, causing mum and dad a headache for what their child will ask for next Christmas.

INNOVATIVE IDEA TO FUTURISTIC REALITY.

The new Lexus concept car went from an innovative idea to a futuristic reality after the company unveiled the new Lexus LF-GH last week in New York City.

Center 548 was the venue of the event, audience's entered via large freight elevators in anticipation of Lexus' announcement.

These elevators were illuminated with neon lights, which added to the futuristic ambiance. Once shuttled to the 2nd floor, the onlookers were greeted by a large white minimalistic room and bathed in soft blue lighting.

Residing at the center of the room was a large white shell, underneath this futuristic canopy was Lexus' vision for the future.

Stage Call had the honor of supplying stagehands for an event that may be viewed, in the future, as a turning point in car engineering, much in the same way as I-POD's or flat screen televisions were viewed to be revolutionary in their own markets.

Below is the stunning promo that played from projectors onto the giant walls of the venue.

Below is the televised announcement.

February In Review: Moncler Show Dazzles

February was a busy month for Stage Call.

We had the privilege of supplying Stage hands for the Hexa Fashion event at the Uptown Armory and The Moncler show at Grand Central Station.

The Moncler show was a flash mob that dazzled onlooking spectators. It was an event that had a small window of execution and which drew a great deal of media coverage.

The amazing results can be seen below:

Also, The Ford Dealer meetings were running during February in Las Vegas, Chicago, DC & Toronto.

This is Stage Call's 3rd year of participation and we annually look forward to those shows.

Teamster Labor was also provided for Colin Quinn at the Helen Hayes and I.A.T.S.E labor for The Pampered Chef show at the Westchester County Center.
